Fur has gotten darker?

Hi Everyone,
We adopted Trixi in March 08 and her fur was pure white (abyssian). Piggies were outside over summer and have been indoors since October. We've noticed all three of their furs are thicker but Trixi now has dark roots!
Does anyone know if this is just due to change in temperature? or maybe age? We're not sure how old any of them are, we were told 1-2yrs. :{
 
I have a Rex/Texal like this and his fur grows thicker and darker in the winter months. In summer he look positively baldy! :))

I have a bunny like this too. Noting to worry about in my eyes just natures way of protecting them for the colder months. :)

Thanks for that. I did wonder why their coats were thicker despite being indoors but i guess this started while they were still outside. Just as well i keep a window open in their room, otherwise they'd be roasting! rolleyes xx
 
LOL Bless! One of my other ones Lyra is just getting over mites and she lost a lot of her coat. Well its grown back and she is now a semi long haired! She is a teddy as well! Funny little things! :)
