hi ! recently i’ve been noticing grey/ brown fur around my piggies cage (one of my pigs is grey/brown) in tiny little tufts, the problem is he’s a ridgeback so his fur is already in weird patterns so it’s harder to spot where he’s losing it. he’s not even 3 yet so it’s not like he’s an old piggie . he seems really friendly still and i haven’t noticed any bullying !
what can i do?

Hi!

Please have your boy vet checked for a fungal skin infection or skin parasites. Neither presents necessarily in a textbook form.
The combination of high humidity and warmth is an ideal breeding ground for fungal; there are many more other forms around than just ringworm. Are the hairs single or are they several attached to larger skin flakes?
New piggy problems: URI - ringworm - skin parasites

You always need to close out any medical angles before you can concentrate on any behavioural ones.
Moody guinea pigs: Depression, Bullying, Aggression, Stress, Fear and Antisocial Behaviour
Bonds In Trouble (how you can test a bond if you suspect a problem in the relationship)
Barbering ( Eating Hair)

All the best!
