Hi all - my two adopted girls seem to be rather fussy eaters and I’m worried they’re not getting enough vitamin C.

They won’t eat kale, chard, white cabbage, red cabbage or Brussel sprouts.

They love red and green lettuce, red and yellow bell peppers, green beans and coriander.

They adore carrots but we only give them those at lap time.

Any recommendations on another high vitamin C leafy green I can try? I’ve offered the things they don’t like on multiple occasions now.

Thanks!

You could try cilantro/coriander, as long as they have pepper I wouldn't be too worried. Careful not to feed carrot more than once a week since it's high in sugar :)

Yes they do like and eat coriander.

Once a week for carrots?! Oops! We give them a mini one each per day!

I used to as well, my vet said it's bad because the food ferments in their stomachs so too much sugar can cause bloat, could always replace it with some dill or parsley:)

The red bell peppers and coriander are good sources of vit c . Especially the red bell peppers. As mentioned already

Spinach is high vit c. But do not feed everyday because of high calcium.

Awesome sounds like red pepper is the way to go!
Green and yellow are fine too. I use red and green for my pigs main vit c source. Nuggets or pellets will get them vit c also.

I used to also worry about my pigs getting enough vit c in their diet. And sometimes i have had fussy pigs, there has never been a problem like scurrvy
