Fussy Guinea Pigs

Hi all

Just wondering if you will be able to help me. Is it normal for GP not to like fruit. I seem to have really fussy ones that only like Veg put not carrots.

Mine aren't keen on fruit, they will eat the Melon rind on a water melon, the odd piece of apple and the juice from tomatoes but other than that they don't each much. To be honest it's fine as they contain so much sugar. For a treat they have the fruit as well as red peppers.

mine only like apple, one likes a bit of banana. They don't like melon or strawberries. my boys seem to prefer salad and veg.

I thought it was just mine i do try them with them but they sniff them and then dont bother with them.

Mine go through fads but they are realising that if they don't eat what they are given there is no more, I just learn from it and buy different next time. The problem is with having 5 they all like different things! ::)
 
Mine aren't keen on fruits either. They love tomatoes though and the odd apple or pear. Apart from that they don't won't eat any other fruits. Fussy little things :smitten:
 
My girls don't like apple, they are not too keen on carrots either. Violet doesn't like brocolli and as for Rodney he eats everything. :)
 
Smudge is more fussy than Spike.

I suppose they are just like us and we would boring if we all like the same.

I'm having problems with Freddy at the moment he will only eat carrots and cucumber where Bob will eat everything I put in front of him. I am trying to find different things to tempt him with but no luck yet! :)

Curly Kale and Spring greens are a hit with mine but they only seem to eat leafy vegs. Mine wont eat carrots.

As long as you are giving them their Vit C then i dont think it is much of a concern how they get it.

Then again i am a novice too!

Mine are mega fussy when it comes to food. They only like mixes and not pelleted foods...so Excel is out of the window (acutally bowl, they chucked it all over the floor trying to get to the yummy bits) they only like certain hays (I'm in the dog house for buying boring hay and not the dandelion sutff) they only like fruit if it is diced, even then they arent too fussed about it, they dont like Parsley, Chard, Cauli, Turnip, Grapes, Mange Tout, not keen on baby corn on the cobs either ;D
 
Mine will do party tricks for parsley they love it that much and kale infact all veggies but they are not keen on fruit they will try it but only little nibbles :smitten: :smitten: x
