Hi
I have got 2 guinea pigs. I think I give them all the right food, but they don't seem to like most of the things.
I tried: spring greens, cucumber, peppers, corn on the cob, brocoli, they just come, have a sniff and walk away. Parsley doesn't work either.
Any advice? Please. I'd like them to be happy. All they seem to eat are carrots.:(

Dont worry alot of my animals are like that, Patches will only eat carrots, lettuce, spinage and grass/dandilion leaves but Lola will eat anything!

Or one of my rabbits ... and this may sound silly but its honestly true....
Will only eat organic tomatoes that you have cut in half, i dont know how he knows they're organic but he does and he wont even think of eating it untill its been cut open lol

How old are they? Two of mine when they were very young were very picky with their veg, but now they wolf anything down :)

Guinea pigs can be fussy at times. Often I've found that I need to try a new food several times before it's accepted. I also managed to convince my guinea pigs to like carrots again by putting a few sticks in when I went to bed. They were gone when I got up in the morning and now it's a night time favourite.

You could try coriander and green beans. Both are real favourites here. Might be worth hiding pieces of food in some hay. Guinea pigs love to find things. :)

Think of all the pennies you will save! Maybe they would be more tempted by lots of different types of hay?

They are so good at getting us to do their bidding!

Have they recently come to you? If so, it might not be that they don't like them, they might still be getting used to their surroundings.

When I got my initial pair, they didn't seem to like peppers at first, but I carried on giving them as I knew the vit C is good for them and they soon changed their minds. Also, they wouldn't touch carrots but since I ended up with more piggles, I thought I'd give carrot another go for my four others as it is cheap and readily available and now they all eat it, even the two that turned their noses up at it originally!
