Adult Guinea Pig
Over the years I have tried piggies on lots of different dried foods, and they never all like the same ones, so I end up feeding a mix, or a half and half mix of pellets and muesli. I have come to loathe these mueslis though, and don't think they are doing my piggies any good whatsoever. I've cut it right down, so they don't get much, but obviously it still forms part of their diet.
My question is, if I feed a good quality pellet and one or two of the three pigs never actually take to the pellets, does it really matter? I've always worried that they will starve or miss out on valuable nutrients if they eat no pellets and just eat hay and veg etc (eg protein, rather than vitamin C - that's not a worry, as I don't expect to get that from the pellets), so I end up giving in and feeding them what they want. But now I'm starting to question this. :-\
