I have more different sorts of hay in my dining room (where the piggies are) than some pet shops have at the moment! Trying to find one that they will eat is proving very time consuming, worrying and expensive! Three more lots ordered just. We'll see ........... ;)

Just ordered from there Jesss! Heard good reports about it - and The Hay Experts too!

Wish mine would eat timothy hay, they turn their furry noses up at it! Ah well - I will find something eventually. Ordered the samples from Hay for Pets - tried most others!

I think mine will eat anything just out of pure greed! OH has a friend whose got us a bail of hay too! Never gonna run out any time soon!

Our piggies can be fussy too. We feed Dustfreehay as everyday hay and give them some oxbow Timothy each morning.

I know what you mean about time consuming and worrying, ours went through a phase of turning their noses up at everything, we had tons in from everywhere lol They have settled down again now... Fussy things!

Burns green oat is a hit with my girls and boy as a treat, they also like the vitaverde hays with dandelion/nettle or rose. Burgess barn dried forage and burgess excel dandelion and marigold herbage goes down well.
I have tons of hay in at the moment, and keep rotating it with normal meadow hay to keep them interested- my boy is a complete hay fiend though!

sport_billy: Just looking now at the link - if I just want the one bale of soft english hay, is it right to choose the 'soft' option only on the order page? Is that the same sort as you have? No point me buying loads until I know they like it.

Thanks klee - they used to like the Dandelion and Marigold ...... little tinkers.

I think they prefer the longer, softer variety?!

let me check!

The burns green oat hay has lots of different green bits in. It has seed heads, soft flat grass pieces (which they particularly love) and some thicker pieces as well which my lot like to chew on. It is quite expensive though for the amount you get in a pack.

Thanks sport_billy! Will order some now.

I'll also look at the green oat hay too klee!

Well, they're not keen on the Timothy/Rye Grass, and the Meadow hay went down quite well. They're just trying the Ings now!

Update - My Piggies are officially fussy madams! My OH friend brought the hay around and they are being so fussy! Back to Timothy and Rye hay =/

Mine went mental for burgess dandelion and marigold 'urinary health' hay. It was 8 euro for 1kg though so it will probably have to be a treat!

Oxbow Orchard Grass ordered last night ........

Think that must be nearly all the hays from The Hay Experts!

Naughty piggies. mine get all kinds of hays as a treat but they have it to be bavk bog standard bale for their litter tray floors. Half the time they cant be bothered to go to hay rack and literally lay down in sleeping poistion eating the cheap hay off the floor. So lazy :lol!: even happens whe it is vitaverde or even alfafa king think they do It to be akward

Mine are on Megazorb, so the hay goes in a rack! They still manage to get it all over the floor though - think they prefer to lie on the hay?!
