Fuzzy - Spay Tomorrow

Wish my little Mrs Fuzzy luck tomorrow. She is being spayed as she has ovarian cysts. Usually we would ask for injections first but her membrane is open and she is very uncomfortable so it is best she has the op sooner rather than later. I am panicking a tad as she is a heart pig so going under a GA is more risky but she is in the best hands as Simon Maddock is doing her op. She is staying at the vets overnight and will be operated on tomorrow. The OH is then picking her up on the train and I have Friday off work.

I have suspected ovarian cysts for a while but my vets could not see anything on the scan. Thank goodness we decided to see Simon instead. The other pigs will be happy as she has been extremely hormonal for months ;)

I will update when I know more tomorrow.
 
Thanks everyone, I know she is in the best hands possible. Now Ross is home I have a bit more information. Apparently she is one of the first pigs he has seen who has literally every symptom - crusty nipples, hormonal behaviour, weight loss, thinning hair and baldness underneath and on her legs - not even on her flanks. Apparently they are all typical for microscopic ovarian cysts. I need to somehow tell my vets this as even though I pointed out her crusty nipples they didn't think she had them. Simon did say they would not have shown up on a scan though.

The op is being done at some point in the morning so I will update after that. He is hoping to go in from the sides but it depends how it goes.

Hope the day isn't to stressful today Helen, I know what it's like waiting on that phone call however you do have the very best vet for the job.

Thank you, am going to be waiting for the phone to ring all morning. They have my work number so that's me busting for a wee all morning as I won't want to leave my desk lol. I did the same with Tim's op. It's very odd in the herd without her. If she needs to be separate when she comes home for a while we have allocated an area where she can still interact and if she seems miserable we will bung Katie in with her as she is happy as long as she has hay and a cozy. They have spent a lot of the last few weeks together too on their heatpads.
 
Oh ok thank you, Ross said it was being done this morning but he had a lot to take in so probably misheard.

Apparently we have to call at 2.30. Think Ross is doing it as he will need to leave work straight after to head to Northampton on the train to pick her up.
