Ross is picking her up shortly. Apparently she has had a syringe feed. Going to be a late night, not expecting them home before 9 then we need to sort her temporary cage at least for tonight.

Glad shes out and doing well. Hopefully a straight road to recovery. x

I am sure she will be fine - with an experienced vet she probably would have been under less than 15 mins - 2 of my girls were done by Simon (before I got them from the now no longer rescuing rugby rabbit and guinea pig rescue) and my other 2 by Rachel Mowbray from Vale vets in Dursley - you wouldn't have thought mine had had an op!

My Sophie is an ex Rugby sow too.

If she hadn't been a heart pig I doubt I would have even worried but she has had quite a journey over the last few years with her heart so that made it a bit more risky. I expect we would not have had the same outcome with a vet that wasn't as experienced. Am so lucky we can get to Simon. Apparently she has had a full spay, as the uterus was really bad, one ovary was solid and the other spiky I think. I will know more when Ross gets home.

Oh bless her, bet her tummy is cold now! Hope she's not feeling too rough and that she's back to jumping and running around again soon. Speedy recovery little lady

Glad she's already at home. Hope she will recover quickly! :hug:Healing vibes her way!

She just took 60ml of critical care (Ross is a pro) and is now sleeping. She did 2 poos when she went back in the cage too. She is on her own for now but had some time with Katie earlier. She doesn't seem to want to eat for herself but am hoping she will start to soon. She has to see Simon again on Wednesday.

I hope so. She seems very sleepy still. She has got hot on her heatpad too and moved to a cooler spot.

She seems much brighter this morning, I fed her in the night (not loads but a top up) and Ross gave 40ml before he left for work. When I got up a couple of hours later she still had her veg so I started passing her some and she took it and ate it, now she is eating hay too. Ross asked me to send a photo what veg she had (before I hand fed) it and he told me she had eaten some already which is good. There are poos in her cage too.

Yay! Good news, my only pig not to recover from Ga was Milo and it was very evident the next day, so this sounds like a fabulous sign!

Fuzzy is doing really well, she has been eating all day and been mooching about her temporary cage. She has dropped to 760g from about 830g before the op but obviously she has had her uterus etc removed. She is really bright and being her usual naughty self, won't sit still on our laps for more than about 5 seconds. Will most likely try to reintroduce her tomorrow once her herd have had a full clean. Ross is also going to build them a new hay kitchen as the old one is not as sterile as I would like.

Fantastic news! And she's ( and the others are) getting a new hay kitchen for her troubles.......they are all, quite rightly, spoilt rotten :D

I hope they show their appreciation with lots of cuddles!

I hope Fuzzy goes from strength to strength! Isn't amazing that hoomans with the same op are off for weeks, and she's already 'her usual naughty self'! What resilient creatures they area (most of the time).x
