I saw someone posting about these on a facebook group (I think they used them as a treat) But I noticed some of them had a much lower calcium level than most of the commercial pellet feeds and I wondered if the pure grass and hay pellets could be a suitable replacement for their usual pellets as a lower calcium diet or if they should just be used as a supplement or treat?
Grass pellets:

I don't have an answer to the above, just wanted to say that I ordered some, and my trio were most unimpressed, unfortunately. Apparently, most piggies like them though. I had originally planned to use them as a treat, but they seem to be good quality. My only concern would be that they aren't fortified with Vit. C, but they are getting Vit. C also from their veggies.

That was my concern also as I couldn't see anything about vitamin C. Mine do get fresh veggies but I would like a pellet which also has it so I definitely know they are getting it (I have 4 pigs and they all pick out their fav veggies so some could be getting more than others but they all eat the pellets)
I think I would buy a small bag first just to make sure they eat it before splashing out on the big bags.

That could possibly have been me :xd: I do go on about them a fair bit! I use them as part of a mix as their main feed, 40% of the mix is Rosewood naturals meadow menu, grain free pellets which alongside their veggies is where their vitamin c comes from. The other 60% is made up of Galens gardens pellets, namely the pure grass, high fibre, alpine hay, oat grass, apple and sometimes carrot pellets and sanfoin. Ours really love them, as soon as you put them in they dive into the bowls...but then my lot would eat anything really :lol!: They do little 250g bags of most of them which is what I ordered to start with because there are quite a few in the 1kg bags if they dont like them.

Oh, I wish there was an easy and cheap way to give you our bag of grass pellets. My Maia very carefully removes all of these pellets from their bowl, and then makes sure to pee all over them. I got the hint!
Well that showed you she def didn't like them in no uncertain terms!

:lol!: oh bless them! My lot did the same with Burgess. They sure know how to be subtle dont they!

Yup, no mistaking the message!

Well, I'm a silly human, she had to make sure to communicate her feelings to me in a simple manner :D

I've always said if they could talk, theyd speak to us veeerry slowly, because they clearly think we're not that bright :lol!:

I have some of those hay cobs (bought from elsewhere, but the same product). Piggies completely turned their noses up.

I bought similar and neither the Guinea Pigs or the rabbits have eaten any!
Just lying about turning into a mess!
