Hello all, and merry Christmas 🎄

I have 2 piggy sows, bramble 9 months old and Holly who is just 8 weeks old. I got her at 5.5weeks old so she's been with us a little over a fortnight now. My question is, what should an 8 week old sow weigh?! I weigh them both approx every 10 days, on 14th Dec she was 284grams, today she is 332grams, so gaining nicely I think. But she still looks very skinny, her hips and shoulders stick out however I'm aware she has gained almost 50grams in 10 days which feels like a lot but I'm not sure? For comparison bramble my 9 month old is 840 grams but I don't think she is going to be a particularly big pig when she's finished growing as she's quite compact! I've attached pics of Holly from a few angles. They get unlimited Timothy, oat and meadow hay and readigrass once or twice a week. Unlimited Burgess pellets as Holly is so young, but they're not keen on them anyway. Then 100grams of fresh veggies between them both a day. I believe this is about right? Any guidance or advice very much appreciated for my new little lady and if she appears underweight! She has come from a lovely home and is otherwise very active, happy and appears healthy.

I agree, as she is gaining, I wouldn’t be too concerned.
She doesn’t need unlimited pellets though, 1-2 tablespoons of adult pellets is enough for her until she is four months of age, then it drops to one tablespoon per day

Thank you for your response, OK perfect I will make sure she doesn't get too many pellets, although they're not keen on them anyway 😂
