We’re home both boys were quiet on the 75 min journey
I’m letting them settle for today but they’re both eating pellets and hay now
Wood Green say they’re amazed how Freddy has become a real little character since being with Geoff ….poor boy must have been miserable
Here is a couple of photos….more will come over the next few days

Thank you your advice Lorcan - it’s made it easier knowing what to expect and bring prepared - I was so excited last night I didn’t sleep very well ! I’m pleased they’re home - Geoff hasn’t forgotten me - he still comes to me from his hidey if I call him …cos he knows there’s food
Hopefully in time Freddy will - Geoff was straight there for veggies and Freddy came out sniffing the air and found them

Update - Freddy has learnt when food appears ….a little nose comes out from the hidey and he sees Geoff going for it and he then does the same - he’s not running away now if I pass by ……amazing that this little creature only moved in yesterday
He’s settling in just fine

Update on Geoff and Freddy
Both have settled down really well - Freddy has been here nearly 4 /52
He put on weight and keeping nice and warm
He still has his red back feet - no sores/ ulcers and he’s ok with me putting on the F10 - his Vet said continue with it as it hopefully will settle down in time - of course he feels stressed when I get him out

Geoff and Freddy are still great pals and I’ve seen them laying next to each other !
Both are eating well and Geoff is maintaining his weight and Freddy is steadily putting some weight on
He’s now 964 and was 945 when he arrived at Wood Green in September then went down to 880 but was 913 when he’d been with me for a week. I think it shows how lonely and stressed he was. Geoff has made all the difference to him.
He is a wriggler but I managed to cut the nails on one of his back feet and I plan to keep doing one foot at each weekly weight check. Easy for him and me
He still has red back feet pads but they are not soft or cut/split. I’m continuing with the F10 but just a warm water clean and dry before - he won’t tolerate his feet bring bathed.
So this little hyperactive wriggler has settled in so well and I love him to bits as I do Geoff.
I miss lovely Bobby but seeing these two together helps a lot.

Geoff and Freddy had a lazy Xmas and New year
Both are well and great friends
Freddy is now 1010g ( he was 964g just before Xmas)
I’m happy with that and he is lively and so sweet.
His back feet are still red but not cut or scratched so I’m carrying on with the F10
I wonder whether it’s just how his feet are …..
Their home is fleece and vet bed.

My new boy Patches has red back feet even when his bumblefoot isn’t flaring. I keep treating with cream just to prevent anything acting back up. I think maybe it’s just how he is, like Freddy

So glad he’s settling in well and Geoff is enjoying the companionship

So Freddy and Geoff are doing well …..weight is the same and health checks fine ( apart from Freddy’s back feet)
I have managed to cut some of Freddy’s nails but he’s so wriggly that I’ll wait to have my daughter’s help before I do any more
Freddy’s feet are the same - red soles of his back feet - no cuts/scratches or wounds - I apply the F10 nightly now
I still feel so fortunate to have got a friend for Geoff …..he’s back to being the happy gentle piggy bumbling along
Freddy is top pig so it’s no different for Geoff ( as Bobby was top pig)
Interestingly Geoff has decided Freddy cannot have that delicious bit of veg in Geoff’s mouth and he turns away now
It’s quite funny to watch at veg time

Freddy and Geoff are great
Freddy still has red soles on his back feet but they are not cut/scratched/ open - when I apply the F10 they feel quite firm
Geoff reminds Freddy every now and then who is older and grumbles at him if he tries to take food from Geoff
Their weight is the same and they’re happy ( as am I)
