Well, after a WHOLE day of nagging, I managed to convince my other half to let me have a C&C cage for George and Alfie! We had to drive all the way to Gillingham for the grids, but it was well worth it:<>. All in all, the grand total for the "big build" was £51.48, much cheaper then I expected;)

They now have lots more space, and an upstair to explore, which is more than I have in my flat:))! Sorry the pictures are small, still can't get to grips with transfering them from photobucket.

wow thats fantastic! very spoilt piggies. :)) I love the corner houses, where did you get them from?
 
I'm not smart enough either, I was hubbies "oily rag" while he did all the work!:)):)):))
 
Yeah, I am! It's really nice to sit and watch them charge about:))
 
I would love a cage like this, but I hve a cat and no way would I take the chance of him getting in there with them!

Fab cage ! Tell me, are your piggies not tempted to leap over the edge ? Mine are little escapologists :))
And it's very empty of poop, do you change the fleeces every day ?
Questions questions ! I'd like to make one of these but just working out the practicalities, thanks !

Well, I got the Correx from my local sign shop for £17.50, and it was HUGE! The single piece completed the cage. I cleaned and disinfected it all today, and to be honest, it was a damn site eaiser to clean then my previous cage, it wipes clean and comes up a treat, its also much easier to dry.

With my smaller cage, I would have to empty it daily, and change all the paper. But now, I spot clean daily, change the newspaper underneath every 2 days, wash the fleece and the vet bed twice a week, and disinfect once a week.

I love the fact that the cage is open, feels more like they're in their house, in my flat, they have pride of place in my front room, get lots of fuss and attention, and have a lovely view into the garden from their second floor:))

Wonderful cage! I would love to have a C&C so simple... I also love the corner huts. Great job!
 
The corner huts came from Zooplus, got the bunny size house for more space, they cost £11.90 each plus postage xx:)

aww, they'd be more than welcome! if you ever need someone to look after them, bring them here! they're so lovely xxxxxxxxxx
 
Well, if I'm ever up your neck of the woods, I'll have to pop them in for a cuppa:)). I'd love to have a cuddle with your girlies, I'm the only girl in my house, theres hubby, my two boys., George and Alfie, I'm seriously out numbered!:))

it's my oh that's outnumbered! he's the only male, whilst he has five lovely females in the flat! x
 
Only just caught up with your thread - I love your set up, you have two very spoilt boys there!:) (and boy are they both gorgeousx)).

My lot are currently in our shed, but we had a C&C exactly like yours and it was great, I really miss having the piggies indoors, but Rachael, my eldest suffers from allergies so our piggy shed is a compromise. I currently use my grids in the shed attached to our large hutch so that during the daytime the gang can come and go as they please, they just get tucked up at night time.:)
 
looks fab id love one but my piggies live in the garage and ive gone back to using shavings instead of fleece too much hastle look forever to clean and over the next 8 weeks i wont have the time to spend 1hr+ cleaning them out every few days :(

Do you not worry about them jumping out? especially on the top with the grids being lower? Mine would well definatly Harvey would not sure about the others though :{
 
Theres been no leaping from the top as of yet:x, but we have extra grids should the need arise. But up to now, they'd rather use their ramp xx:)
