Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone,
I've not been around on the forum for a while. I've had a big family crisis to deal with (and still on going :0 )
Anyway, today George my 4year old boar had a growth removed from his back. He's had it for about a year now, and although we managed to shrink it with steroids, it kept growing back. Last week he had fairly large bleed from the growth, so the vet decided it should be surgically removed.
He's still quite sleepy this evening, but i've managed to tempt him with some kale which he has eaten. He's on Metacam and Fibreplex and has a 3cm wound on his back. I've also got some syringe food in case he stops eating. He is looking very sorry for himself, poor baby. I've partitioned the cage off so his girls can't interfere with his wound, but they can still sit next to each other either side of the bars.
I'm hoping he'll perk up a bit tomorrow once the anaesthetic is out of his system.
He's due for a check up on Friday.
