To brief on background:

.Had two pigs Charlie and Harry 4 years ago
.Harry died due to neglect from P@H
.Two years on Charlie was still sad
.Got Georgie through boar dating
.Rescued Jack and Bailey also
.Had four pigs altogether
.Charlie died on the 15th of October 2012 due to damage that had been caused as a baby (same as Harry)

To the subject: George

Georgie has been really down since Charlie died. Saw the vets. Made a drastic decision. Have decided to get him snipped with intentions of him having a girlfriend instead of another boarfriend. He was dropped off at the vets tonight. Its all very stressful for him. I didn't want him to be so sad anymore but in the same breath (due to past experience and research) feel he will be better suited to a female. Any thoughts would be most welcome.

I had to make the decision about neutering when my attempts at bonding my boys failed....I had Cyrus neutered last september. He developed an abscess at the neuter site where he had been nibbling the wound. A course of antibiotics cleared that up and 2 months later he went in with the girls. Whilst it was stressful for me, Cyrus was fine, just a bit quiet the day after the op. To see him with the girls was great. My other boy now has a spayed wife, so both are very happy boys..

It's easier to bond a sow with a boar I reckon so sounds like a Good idea, they get so protective of one another. So begins the countdown for a wife pig ;)

I picked Georgie up about an hour ago from the vets. Op went really well. They seem to have done a great job. It looks very neat and clean. They did my cat when I first had her and did a great job then so I am pleased. Any tips for keeping him safe? i.e. warmth and cleanliness etc... He is on fleece atm in my room. Should I get him a hot water bottle or anything?

To Fudge and Rainbow: He can't live with Bailey because Bailey lives with Jack :)

He is doing great so far. He has had lots of lovely veggies today so is a happy piggy. I am keeping him nice and warm. So far so good. Don't really know what to expect though x
