Adult Guinea Pig
Last night I said my final goodnight to my beloved George. (6 and a half)
Some of you may remember me posting that George developed a lump on his shoulder in March, which we decided to keep an eye on due to his age (6 years). The lump didn't get any bigger and never bothered George. 3 months ago he started with some hip problems, he would sit with one leg sticking out. We visited the vet who felt a second mass in his tummy. We gave him pain relief twice a day and fed him all his favourite foods and treats with plenty of cuddles as we knew time was probably limited.
He was so brave, eating and munching with gusto and pottering around right up until his final day.
He passed in my arms in his blanket.
My darling George there are no words to express how much I love and miss you. Your gentle manner and happy face. You gave me so much and I loved you and Fred from the moment I saw you at 10 weeks old.
You are now reunited with your brother Fred (who passed in early May).
Be happy and run free at the bridge.
Until we meet again.
For the last time the words we said at bedtime every night.
Sleep tight Georgie pig, Love you so so much.xx
