Geraldine is going away later this week, to stay with Erica at Little Pip's. We'll miss her a lot, but we are hoping that she will make some new friends while she is away, then she can come home with her new friends, and we will all be very happy. She's done very well on her own but she is lonely.
It's an exciting time for us, and I'm sure that once Geraldine get there and sees all the other pigs, she will have a lovely time. It is entirely up to Erica and Geraldine who will come home with us. But new piggies! Wheek!

It’s like going on a dating holiday. Good luck Geraldine. Please play nicely and bring home a new friend.

I took her this morning. She was a good girl on the journey, she ate some of her travel snacks. Erica is going to try her with two very young pigs first. They need an auntie and we hope that Geraldine might be that pig. If that doesn't work out, there are more options. These are all pigs who came from a situation where they didn't have much human contact so they are all very timid. We hope that Geraldine will bond with some so they can all come home together, where she will show them the ropes and convince them that people can be a good thing. I am going to have to wait (not my best thing!) for Geraldine to decide.

It's VERY quiet without her. Also I have scrubbed out the Piggy Palace and it's currently drying out so that looks weird too. I am full of anticipation :woot:

Exciting times for you and Geradine, bet you can't wait to see who she chooses. Hope she finds someone/s she loves.

Have a great time meeting new friends, Geraldine! :)

Awe bless her  They are brilliant at Little Pips, I’m sure Geraldine will find a friend to come home with :luv::luv:

These are such fantastic options available there for your guinea pigs. How exciting for your adorable little Geraldine and you! I really wish we had some of these options in finding and rehoming guinea pigs after meeting and dating in the area I live as well.

Keep up with everyone on how it goes and who she gets to come home with!

What an amazing adventure for the very gorgeous Geraldine! I'm sure Erica will be able to find her a friend or two to bring home and introduce to you!

There's a little snag, Erica is a bit concerned about Geraldine's breathing, it's a little noisy at times and she doesn't want to introduce her to any new playmates until that's been checked out. If she is brewing up an illness the last thing either of us wants is for it to spread amongst the other piggies.
I am an hour and a half away so Erica has very kindly said she will take Geraldine to her own vet up the road, tomorrow hopefully. I will of course pay the fees. I hope it's nothing serious. Erica said not to worry but I think I will, just a little anyway.
She is otherwise fine and has been relaxing in her cage after a hearty breakfast.

Oh bless her :soz: Paws crossed it is nothing to worry about x

Lungs are all clear so not an infection :yahoo:

Tomorrow she gets her first introduction, paws & fingers crossed there is at least one little pig that she likes.

So far, so good.
They've had a good run around together and have snuggled up together. I hope this goes on as well as it's begun, but it is early days yet.
Erica is trying Geraldine with two little pigs who were part of a big rescue, I'm guessing some on here will know more about that than I do. They need an auntie to teach them the ways of the world.

They spent last night together and all was well. So Erica said I could fetch them home today and that's what we did :)
I don't have pics as they are still running away when they see me coming, but will get some soon.
They are absolutely gorgeous and only three months old, we've not had baby pigs before. I will have to see what names they end up with but for the moment they are Wednesday and Bonnie. Wednesday is brown all over, with little rosettes in her fur, Bonnie is brown at the front end but blonde at the back, with long fur.
They have not stopped chattering since they came home!
Also I have not seen Geraldine so active for a LONG time. This will do wonders for her waistline.

Congratulations on your new piggys.
Lovely to hear the babies have got Geraldine active. I love confident baby piggys, their interactions with the world are charming. Looking forward to seeing photos when they stay still long enough!

There has been popcorning, and making tunnels in the hay. They shared some grass which I picked them from my garden - that's the only time they've been quiet

Congratulations.
Baby piggies gave my Merab a whole new lease of life.
I wish Geraldine the same joy with her new companions
Looking forward to pictures
