When we got back from holiday we set the room up for the piggies as they are free ranging and blocked off all of the wires etc. However, we forgot to block off the end of the sofa and overnight they chewed through the internet cable that runs behind the sofa, little monsters. We thought we would be able to identify which one did it by the trail of poos leading up to the cable but it was a mixture of sizes so am not sure now. Gert got the blame initially though as she chewed through the computer mouse a few weeks back. Needless to say all wires are now blocked off completely and we made a hasty trip to Maplins to replace the cable. rolleyes

Welcome to the world of the enterprising modern guinea pig! :(|):(|):(|)

I am always amazed at how quickly roaming piggies are able to find every single weak spot in a house for you... usually before you do!

:o Naughty piggies! :)) We had the Christmas tree lights chewed through by my cheeky girls! They weren't in my parent's good books for a while! rolleyes

hmmmmm, sounds familiar
1. Rene and Bertie chewed our DVD cable in 2! it was plugged in and how they didn't fry, I'll never know!

2. Finlay and frankkie took themselves 'home' recently... couldn't climb into the stand, so started eating the BAG of pellets underneath

3. Oliver always finds something not child proof to play with: the bin, the oven door, the window ledge... argh.... I give up!

Oh good am glad it's not just ours then. The hamsters are bad enough pulling curtains into their balls and shredding them lol.

Things went rather fraught here when one of my piggies became a plastic addict - anything from hay bags, pellet bags, shopping bags, waterbottle wrapping, cables... And she usually manged to get to any scrap first!

My first guinea pigs when I was a child, chewed throught the phone cable. It was a while before we realised, I thought it was odd no one had phoned!
They also took a fancy to decorating and ripped all the wall paper off in the dinning room - it was wood chip but even so my mum wasn't very happy.
She redecorated and they did it again! so we ended up putting perspex on top of the skirting boards so they couldn't get at it! lol

I wonder why they are so obsessed with plastic?! I was de-pooing the other day and they went mental for the poopy scoop! Freddie has nearly had the laptop wire many a time as well. You would think instinct would tell them it was dangerous!
