Getting A Friend For Edward!

We got our piggy who we think is around four from the adoption centre at Pets at Home. I saw him and fell in love with and could not leave him there. I always wanted a friend for him but we were advised by them not to. So he has had a pampered life as an only piggy, but spend lots of time cuddling and watching dvds! However after discovering this fab forum we are taking the plunge and getting a friend for him from a rescue. The pup is not ready until the beginning of October but I am so excited!! Here he is checking out his new friend!

Best of luck! Please be aware that boar bonding can take around two weeks until the youngster get his say in the shaping of the relationship, and that fall-outs can happen as late as that.
What rescue are you using? North East Guinea Pig Rescue?

It is Christina from Cherry Lodge Boarding, I think she goes under Rosie and Bramble? She fosters for NEGPR. So we are taking Edward up to her to assist with bonding. I must admit I do feel a bit nervous but I am sure she will be there for advice if I need it. I just hope all goes well with it as I do worry but hope I am doing the right thing for him.

You will be in good hands and you are doing the right thing for him. Bonding a piggy is always a rather nerve racking experience, but it is worth seeing Edward happy. On average, it takes about two candidates to find Mr Right, so letting Edward meet the youngsters and choose the one he is getting on best with will go a LONG way toward stablising a bond.
