Getting Enough Calcium For Babies

I am collecting two 6 week old sows this Friday. I have read that growling guinea pigs ( until 6 months old) need extra calcium either by giving them alfalfa hay or by buying pellets with alfalfa in.

Is this correct and what would you reccomend?

Have a read through our comprehensive diet thread; it will give you recommendations as to how many pellets for which age and which veg etc. you can feed how often in which quantities.

The actual extra amount needed is pretty small. Many newbies make the mistake of going overboard.
