Hello! My piggies are loving living on fleece but my OH is not loving the piggie hair that is appearing on all our clothes from subsequent loads in the washing machine!

I've been shaking their fleeces and brushing to remove as much hair as possible, but with 3 long-haired piggies (and 3 short hair), it's almost impossible to brush it all off.

Does anyone have any clever methods or clever gadgets to solve this problem? PLEASE! Thank you x

a sticky lint remover from wilkos and the cheap refill rolls lol

I sweep mine outside with a stiff sweeping brush this seems to do the trick and i also use a 'wash bag' to put the pigs fleece and inco pads in when i was them in the washing machine. I made mine out of a old duvet case and made the top like a drawstring and then pop in the fleece and inco pads tie the top and put in the washer, it catches all the hair :)

I wash mine inside an old duvet cover, I've just got a lovely new washer and am not taking any chances!

Ahh, the age old hair on the clothes problem! Theres a tshirt you can get with the slogan ' clothes dont look right without piggy hair' :)) Tell him he'll just have to get used to it! :))

Seriously though, my OH used to moan about it too, i give it a good shake and wash it in an old duvet, cut down to make a wash bag. Brushing the fleece with a stiff brush first helps too. :)

I get the colour & dirt catchers for the washing machine...When the machine starts spinning I can see the hairs sticking right to the catcher. :D The fleece comes out spotless. :)

Rubber gloves..marigold. Just wear and sweep across fabric.

I think I'll be trying out some of these suggestions!

I usually brush off as much as I can, then after I've washed them I do a couple of 'empty' washes, the remaining hair seems to gather in the same place so I wipe it out with tissue.

Someone here suggested using normal rubber washing up gloves. I used to use a lint brush but it does damage the fleece after a while but I did swear by the thing...Anyways, someone here mention using rubber gloves and it works an absolute treat.
I prefer the ones with grips in the palms because it makes it that much easier.

Just put them on and them sweep your hands over the fleece. I hang mine on the washing line when I do this and oh my, does it ever work!

Ah! Sonia in this thread mentioned it, too!
See! It's a good plan! :))

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I will be donning my rubber gloves ... using a lint roller on any stubborn bits and rinsing the washing machine out afterwards! :)) Fingers crossed cos I love them being on fleece! x

I hang mine on the washing line to blow about for a day and then shove it in the washer and there's no hair on it when it comes out, very rarely there's any hair in the washer but when there is I just wipe it clean.

i wipe the machine out afterwards then do a quick rinse with the empty machine to clean it

Does that really work?! :o

I always shove some towels in the wash after the fleece because the hairs don't stick to towels very well, they can be shaken off...But I didn't know you could wipe it and then rinse while it was empty and it would get rid of the hairs.

That's great!

Our machine is broken right now, though...So it doesn't help me at this very moment :red But it will...Eventually!
