Getting new pig

Hi all, been a while since i was on, been a tough year..... been thinking of getting smudge a play pal, when i got him he was on his own and has been since as i thought he wouldn't deal well with another pig 'in his space' but have recently been told by his previous owners that he was bought to keep and older pig company so is used to others, if i was to get a new play pal would i need 2 bowls and water bottles or would one between them work?
