Huey Ling Tan
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi,
My guinea pig seems to only like to eat high calcium veg only. He had a bit of a problem with kale (he started making noise while pooping). So I totally stopped it and he is now fine.
Another favourite is romanian lettuce. I understand you cannot feed him this everyday. So I tried getting him interested in other vegs. Any advice? I have tried:
1. celery (only the leaves he will eat),
2. red pepper (sniff and no more),
3. parsley (after 2 days he did not want it anymore),
4. savoy cabbage (just not a sniff at it),
5. cucumber (losing some interest),
6. carrots (loves them but not a daily veg),
7. spinach (two leafs and no more),
8. red cabbage (he seems to love it-is it safe?)
9. coriander (loved it for 3 days and no longer touch it),
10. gem lettuce (not keen and will eat part of it).
I have tried
1. leaving it in the cage,
2. feeding it everyday,
3. chopping them in tiny pieces mixing it with the romanian (he sussed it out!)
Nothing works!
My shopping bill is quite high trying different veg (of course over a period of a month). He seems so picky! Even with hay, he can't seem to make up his mind which brand he likes.
