Hope this is in the correct place, if not mods please feel free to move this :)

Gilly is going for a 2 day bonding trip on Friday. He is going to be paired up with a 5 week old rex agouti boar. I went and picked up their new 4ft double hutch yesterday and have started getting it ready for the two of them.

Firstly, I lined the ramp with thick fleece:

Then, I cut a wood board down to size to make the ramp opening just big enough for the piggies to go up and down, without falling.
The opening has gone from this:

to this:

I was going to line the top with fleece but I just decided to use hay.

Here is the actual hutch:

it does look good but the ramp looks very steep for them. you may also want to put a side on so they cant fall off.

I'm working on it hehe. Just working on putting a little 'barrier' at the top to stop the hay falling down.

I've now added a 'barrier' at the top to stop the hay falling down:

and a 'banister':

That's pretty much most of the work done for now. I have some fly netting on order and a rain cover.

What do you guys think?

i think the ramp still needs to be lifted up as its to steep. it should be a gentle decline for them.

apart from that all good :)

Yep, the ramp is a bit steep, but if you get a noggin of wood, you can attach it to the underneath of the ramp to make it more of a gentle slope :)

They seem to be managing it....

Both Gilly and one of my original baby boars can go up and down fine.

There are now 3 bolts/locks on the hutch to make it a bit more secure:
They are a little wonky as my dad did them, he always puts things on wonky lol!

Your bolts are about as wonky as all mine, lol!

Sorry but the ramp does look very steep to me, they may manage it but if they got scared and went down very quick they could go head over heels. Better safe than sorry maybe

Sorry to everyone if I overreacted, as I said.. I'm very emotional right now due to offline problems.

I will leave this thread for now and update you once the little one is in the hutch.

Where did you get the hay basket? I love it! Have they been ok getting in and out of it?

I have lazy pigs...!

I remember you talking about the bolts........you've done a fab job love, nice and secure :)
The little corner house is great they'll be able to snuggle down there :)
Have they tried the ramp in the new setup yet? did you have to put treats on it for them :))

I dropped Gilly off with the lady at 3 o clock. The baby he's been put in with is a Lemon agouti rex boar. The lady has said if all goes well she will drop them both off at my house tomorrow morning. I'm so excited!

I'll post pigtures asap :))
