Tomorrow is piggy day for me (as if every day isn't but more so!)

I am picking up a mum and baby to come into the rescue and dropping off leaflets at the local vets. But where else can I put them?

I am also going to the local greengrocer to see about spare leaves and stuff that I can feed them all.

What else can I do?

Any and all ideas welcome.....

You can put posters up that advertise the guinea pig forum? That way they can ask any questions on here. :)

You could ask pet shops (that don't sell pets) to put them up, local feed suppliers, stables (that sell hay) or anywhere that sells hutches, etc... maybe garden centres. :)

Do you have a local weekend market that sells veg? They might let you have stuff if you turn up towards the end.

Here are some ideas

  • Take posters/leaflets to local feed merchants, pet shops, vets and newsagents
  • Contact local schools and community groups and offer to go along and talk to them about the work you do.
  • Ask the local paper to do an article
  • Speak on a local radio station
  • Encourage friends to talk about the work you do to everyone
  • Make sure the website appears high on search engines
  • Promote on Gumtree

If I think of others I will let you know!

If you need fundraising advice or how to get items for the piggies just say as I have ideas for that too!

I would let other rescues know as you might be closer for someone enquiring at their rescue and also the local RSPCA as they might not have piggies and can direct ppl to you.

Okay have let other rescues and the RSPCA know, placed an ad in the yellow pages and on gumtree as well as preloved, ad trader and freeads.

Going to the vets, local supermarkets and stuff today to use their notice boards

I think then I just need to wait

I need to find people who are looking for pigs more than take them in at the moment I think. Although aside from Duke I don't have anyone ready to go right now..

Okay I have my first homecheck today - someone asked about Kipling and requested a home check - just to make sure everything is okay.

How good is that?

Fingers crossed!

Classifieds in local newspapers! It's how I found mine! I was looking to rehome an older boar pair and had no idea there were guinea pig rescues when I found the ad, which was the beginning of a whole different life... *humming "a whole new world"*

Also I don't know what internet advertising sites you've got, but list there too, that way both people looking to get a piggy and those looking to rehome see you!

Oh and how about schools and unis? Kids might as well nag their parent for a rescue piggy as a petshop one :)

Well done the homecheck and the lady passed. Hutch big enough and being housed indoors from September. I'm very pleased. Introductions here on Sunday so keep your fingers crossed for them!
