Maybe you could grate some carrot for him or cut up small pieces of soft fruit/veg to encourage him to eat. Keep up the good work.

I'm sure the antibiotics puts them off their food a bit anyways love, i've found it so 8...
More healing wheeeeeeeeeeeeeks and loves for the boooootiful Spice from us both xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Spicey and I were back at the vets today as he was sneezing and had soft poos all though his chest is clear he has a crusty nose.

Spice is now on 0.3ml Baytril and has in total over a month lost just over 200grams.

We know are in operation get spicey back up weight wise and trying to prevent anymore infections.

I was also asked what his life was like, as to whether he had any quality.
Toofs are not yet getting done as he has enough problems and it would be painful for him.

Latest on spice:
he is munching on pellets and museli ok
he hates baytril and will not let me give it to him without a small battle....
and for a sick piggy he certainly can wheek

my guinea pig was diagnosed with an ear infection on monday night, looking alot better! he has had to have baytril and he would not take it, chucking the syringe around! i found squeezing the baytril directly onto a fresh slice of cucumber and letting it soak in worked! he cant taste it or smell it, checked with the vets and they said it was fine! sending all the best for spice! xxxoxo

Well we are back from the vet.
It seems like the vet just wants to keep an eye on his weight to see if he loses weight again, and his teeth. So we do not have to go again for 3 weeks (only because spice is going on holiday in 2 weeks and that is when he originally wanted to see him)

He does not clip overlong teeth as he says they can split along the length of the tooth as well, into the root and can cause pain. He is a good vet and a guinea pig owner so I trust what he says.

He is also wondering if some of spices wound's can be attributed to bullying and that it it what started all this off. I'll put a post in the behaviour forum about that.

ohh, poor little Spice, I really feel for you. Me and the girls are sending you all our love to you and Spice and get well wishes. Pheobe especially sends a loving "wheek" to little Spice (she's a noisy girl - LOL!) xxxxxxx

Update

Spice is much better, he has been a lone piggy since Friday and between Friday and Sunday gained 50 much needed grams,
he is feeling much better he is being a little houdini-escape artist pig

He is currently with my mum and having a great time with loads of hugs, till he comes back to me this weekend.
Oh his back is healing nicely and is no longer sore.

See you all this weekend
H

glad he is feeling a bit better and hope he continues to improve x

Spicey is currently a very sick piggy. he has had soft poops for a couple of weeks, and since he was weighed a couple of days ago has lost a lot of weight. he has one very worried mummy, and is severely lethargic...

so the plan is lots of tlc for as long as possible and then if he doesn't perk up a very big decision. i can't bear seeing him like this.

Helen i am so sorry to hear about Spice.

Keep your spirit up for him and give him lots of cuddles. xxxxxxxxxx

Oh I am so sorry, I have just read this posting about Spice passing away.

He did fight so hard to stay with you .... he knew you loved him very much and cared for him so well.

Sleep tight little one xx

So so sorry to hear this, he was sick at the same time as my Harry, who also died in my arms. It's tough to lose a piggy, especially when you've been nursing them so much. My thoughts are with you
