My sow's nipples got very long during her pregnancy and nursing period. By long, I mean right around 1/2" (12.7mm) and they are long enough to constantly be on the bedding when she's resting, or sometimes even while standing (have to laugh as one is solid black including areola, other is pink which is kinda trippy). Still amazed pups don't damage them considering how delicate they look, but I'm concerned about them in the long-term being so long.

Can she have possible issues with infections, abrasions, etc. down the road due to their length?

Don’t worry. They will retract back again. How long ago did she give birth?

Been 4 weeks to the day. She had all girls, so they are still will her (indefinitely), and she still seems to "give in" and let them nurse once in awhile.

Good to know they'll retract though. Was a little worried they'd get infected at some point or something. Thanks!
