I have always ketp rabbits from about the age of 8, i have only been keeping guinea pigs for the last 10 yrs i am now 39 but have always wanted a giant rabbit but have never had the fasilities to keep one anyway i went into my local p&h Bescot Walsall they are pretty good in there, i have heard some horror stories on here about them but this one is pretty good they had a giant rabbit in there he was georgous but he was 129 quid i have been back sevrel times and he is still there how can they justify that price they will never sell him but what will happen to him if he never sells what do thy do with these animals? :( :(

I'm pleased the price is so high as it stops parents buying them for their kids or people buying it on a whim!
Theres probably quite a few giant rabbits in rescue if you seriously want one :)

Try rescues! O0

They'll reduce the price of the rabbit eventually if he doesn't sell I guess. In my local P@H, if an animal doesnt sell they lower the price, then if it doesnt sell, they put it in the adoption centre and just ask for a voluntary donation.

My local P@H always has giant rabbits in and they go very quickly, everything does! They said they wont sell them to go in a hutch, only to be house buns or where they can have a shed to themselves, not sure how they'd make sure that happens but at least they're learning! x

I saw the one in Taunton but he/she does not look that big to me, I had a massive angora who was so be we called him King Pud, our dog and goat were scared of this lolloping mass of white fluff.

I agree with debs, and I'm glad they are so expensive!

Someone from my old job had one (her daughters, but hers) and he had a whole room in her house to himself :smitten: He never chewed or peed where he wasnt supposed to, but she said he was very grumpy and didnt like human contact...not sure if thats the breed in general, or she just has a moody bun :o ;D ;D ;D

I am pretty certain there will be loads in rescues, and have seen adds from breeders selling them for about £40...

i saw a 5-6month old rabbit in P@H yesyerday in the adoption section dont think it was a giant one though

anyway

the sign said she was in there as she just had babies and want a place to live on her own away from her babies!

would this mean tht her last owner would of gotten rid of her and kept the babies?

I hope not that would be nasty :tickedoff:

maybe P@H accidently put her in with a boy rabbit. and they intend to sell the babies in store, and "rehome" her seperate?

i knoow its a horrible thought but it does happen in pet shops and i wouldnt put it past P@H

i think giant rabbits are gorgeous :smitten: it would be worth ringing a few rescues if you want one but if you just want the one in p@h because its been there for so long maybe you could give them your email addy and tell them if it doesnt sell to give you a ring? ?
