I seem to remember in a dust chest in side my head that guineas cannot eat sunflower seeds soooooo i think no sunflower heads would be the same, but hey others may no different, an i can't lay my hands on any books to look at the mo
Sunflower 'shoots' are very nutritious at about 3/4 inches high and when they have the 2 seed leaves. I grow (and sell ) these for my guineas. This month you get a free sample of sunflower seeds (to grow!) if you order from Planet GUinea. Mine don't like the petals and I've never tried them on the leaves at full grown stage. I wouldn't feed mine the seeds either, they're not toxic but a build up of them will lead to other complaints, I think this is especially true of rats...
