gideon unwell U/D he is home

please pray for my little man he's very ill. he is only 5 months old and has already battled mites and now he has choked which has led to fluid on the lungs and breathing difficulties. i am so worried about him as the vet has kept him overnight and i've been told not to hold out much hope.
however on the positive side my brave little soldier is putting in a fight so please send vibes and hope that he pulls through.

Prayers being said as I type. The good thing is he is young, meaning he will have more fight to give. Hope he is back home with you soon, sometimes guineas can really surprise you and many vets say not to hold out to much hope for little creatures like Gideon. :(

Poor little Gideon, I really hope he makes it. He does have age on his side, and he is obviously a fighter . . .

thank you for all the vibes just to let you all know he is home. he is by no means out of the woods yet but he continues to put in a fight and is eating and drinking well. have him on baytril and heat pads and i'm just trying to keep him warm hopefully he will make a full recovery.
 
Brilliant news, just make sure he can retreat to somewhere cooler if he gets to hot on the heat pads. :)
 
he has a little shaded pig loo thing that he can go to but he's quite enjoying himself by the look of him all snuggled up in the corner being pampered i honestly though i was going to lose him ( i still might) but i cant ask any more from him he's such a trouper

he's much better today walking normally and he even managed to wheek for his breakfast (although he did sound a little hoarse) eating well i have my fingers crossed he's over the worst of it.
Glynis he did take his meds well although i admit there was a lot of bribery on my part :)
 
If he is walking about like normal that's a good sign, so glad he is better then what he was. :)
 
thank you have to say i'm so relieved i fell in love with him from the minute i fostered him (hence why i kept him) i just knew he was special but i didn't expect that he would have to fight two major health problems in such a short space of time but lets just hope thats him now and he wont give me anymore scares
 
It sounds as if he has got over the worst and I hope he doesn't give you anymore scares. With you taking care of him now I am sure he won't. :)
 
he is so much better he's wheeking and pop corning and generally was his usual self still giving him his anti biotics but it all looks promising thanks for asking :)
 
Great news, when he starts refusing the antibiotics you know he will be alright. O0
 
well it's d-day tomorrow thats when i'll find out if the infection caused by swallowing some food is gone i hope it is because he's made so much progress and seems to be back to his normal cheery self
vets appointment is at 6.30pm as i'm working all day but i'm very hopeful that he has made a full recovery .
 
I hope he has, fingers crossed, let us know how it goes. Bless him, it's amazing how much fight these little creatures have got in them. :smitten:
 
i am so so happy he has a clean bill of health the rattle in his chest is gone completely and he made his prescence felt in the vets by whheeking rather loudly but my little man is going to be ok
