Gilbert continuously bleeding

Oh brilliant! I'm glad they've managed to sort the problem now. Hope he recovers well :)

Me too. I've been so worried about him as this is the first time any of my pigs have had an operation. He seems to be okay. He wasn't really moving the first day to go and get food but I kept placing veg in front of him and he'd happily eat it and I moved the dry food near him.

Today he's walking over to the hay, though he's pushed it near his puppy mat I bought him to sit on for comfort under his pigloo.

I think he'll be okay. :) He still squeals in pain but I figure its from being sore and not the stones anymore.

I do remember. :)

He's doing well. He's happily eating all the food in his cage today. The hay, pellets and vegetables. He really hates the medication though and I hate it when he squirms because his stitches.

Apart from that he's doing well. :) I'm overall very happy.

Fab news :) you have done such a good job with him and it is obvious you care for your pigs very much :)

Yeah he was a very good man when looking at Gilbert. He handled him carefully and spoke nicely to him. I was pleased as most vets seem to just toss them around. >>
 
He is lovely, I am biased though as he is vegan and so am I, but he does have a nice nature when treating the pigs.

He called Gilbert a nice nickname which made me happy as most don't speak softly and nicely to the piggies. I think it made Gil feel safer, too.

Is he still on cystaid following his op? I have had a boar piggie with lots of bleeding (far more than Gilbert) and we found that dissolving a capsule of cystaid in 1ml of water and syringe feeding daily really helped.

Yes he is. I've been sprinkling it on his cucumber and letting him eat it that way. He doesn't really like the syringe and fights it to the best of his ability so the cucumber technique has been the easiest for me. I have to hold him or Ludwig tries to eat it though as he loves cucumber.
