Hello

Has anyone got any experience with these vets? I need my little girl Maggie to have a bladder stone removed and after checking on here I can see they come highly recommended.

My usual vets has quoted between £800-£900 for the surgery and anesthesia.

Does anyone have a rough idea of what they charge. I have already paid out over £200 in consultation fees and medicines with my current vets. I called Gilmoor and they said its £75 for a second opinion consultation, and couldn't give me an estimate for surgery without seeing her first.

Thanks in advance

it really depends on the vet practice to be honest. For a specialist I would expect you to be given a higher estimate as they are ‘specialist’ and you should get what you pay for.

I also tend to find any of the bigger branches have higher prices then those whom are independent.

My practice charged £300 odd when we did our last bladder stone removal on a sow(but we are not specialists with piggies and are independent). However, it wasn’t a massively invasive procedure as the stone was very close to the opening of her vulva-we just had to make a slit and were able to pull it through.
