My piggies really enjoy their veggies, but i'm worried to give them anything other than their usual carrots, cucumber, grass, dandelion leaves and broccoli because I know some veggies and fruit can be toxic to the pigs.

I am wanting to broaden both my and the pigs diets and would love if anyone could list their piggies 5 favourite fresh treats in the form of veggies and fruit because tomorrow I am going shopping and i'm going to buy the pig's lots of yummy dinners and make them a melody rainbow of veggies and fruit that they haven't tried before or rarely has ;)

Thanks,

Annabel and the naughty pigz x

I would always have a least one high vitamin C veg or herb in your daily mix and never introduce more than one new food at once.

Have you had tried fresh herbs like parsley, coriander, basil, dill, fennel, mint? Just sprinkle some over your veg - they are good for trace elements and parsley for high vitamin C, too.

Try stringless broadbeans if they are on offer! Any green beans are an occasional veg you can feed.

Here is list of veg they can have: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=42

That list is great, Wiebke, thanks!

I never thought about giving them more than one new food. Don't want poorly piggies! mallethead

They have had parsley and they loved it. Nom, nom, nom! I think they're in for a treat tomorrow :)

Thanks

The favourites of my guys are probably ... parsley, lettuce, spinach, celery and dandelions! They're a big fan of their leafy veg :)

That's cool everyone, thanks! Going to get some parsley and melon for the boys this morning. George used to have melon quite a lot and he loved it, so it will be nice for the babies to try a little bit today. drool
