Ginger - You were never meant to stay!

When you came to live with me Ginger, it was only meant to be for a short time. Just until I could find you, and your friend Snap, a lovely forever home! Immediately Snap began his campaign to convince me that you had already found your new home! You were very shy and left all the talking to Snap, who would chatter away at me whenever he saw me. I kept telling him it was no good, I would find you both a special home, but it couldn't be with me! I managed to resist for a couple of weeks until one day I shouted 'ok you win!'. I'm so glad I let my heart rule my head! Slowly you became more and more confident, although you always looked to Snap for re-assurance.

Sadly it became time to say goodbye on Monday evening. An xray showed you had stones in the ureter (the tubes leading from the kidneys to the bladder!) :'( :'( :'( You were weak and in a lot of pain! :'(

We all miss you so much Ginger. :'( Snap is so quiet without you. :'(

Thank you all for your very kind words. Snap is really missing Ginger. At the moment I have his cage downstairs but I think I will move him back upstairs tomorrow so he is with all the other piggies. Snap was always such a chatterbox, but he is so quiet now. :'(
