Ginger was the first guinea pig i had ever held.

At the time i had Becca my garden bun and Rupert my other bun.
Holly (sis) had asked for a guinea pig for christmas. So she got one. I remember my auntie bringing her in in a huge microwave box. And it been filled with hay.
Holly had then pulled out a fur ball. (At the time i didnt know, but i think she was either a dutch or tri-coloured smooth)
We all loved her. Holly named her Sporty because she ran so fast! We then re-named her to Ginger.
Ginger lived with Rupert a couple of years until he died. I remember going down to the garden and seeing Ginger sat next to him.
We then got Spice (my first piggy) and the two got on lovely.

We then moved to another house after my mum and dad split up.
Spice and Ginger were in there hutch all through winter with no covers and i rarely held them. I fed them and they had fresh fruit nd veg. I ddint clean them out that often either. I didnt deserve those piggies. I feel awful about the way they lived for those 6 months. we had 2 big dogs that lived in garden.
We then moved away and we lived in a bungalow, with a garage, summer house and mobile house.
They did live in a 5ft hutch till it fell apart and then htye lived in a 3ft.
They got all the proper care then.
I feel so stupid , they could of had a massive C&C cage. Thats an example of how i took it for granted.

So then we moved again.
I then started to go on another piggy forum (not this one) and started to find out about the proper care they should have.
I remember having floortime with Ginger and Spice and seeing crawling things on Ginger.
So we bathed her with dog shampoo (big mistake)
And sshe began to have diahreo (sp?) and green stuff came out her month. This carried on for a couple of days until we booked a vet appointment.
I remember saying to mum 'i dont think Ging will pull through the night.;'
So i put loadss of hay in her hutch. I made holly go down in the morning and remember her crying.
It was awful. Ginger had died. The whole family was crying.
She died the night before we could take her t the vets.
She died 1st November 2006.

I feel awful the way she and Spice were treated, we really didnt deserve her.
Ginger was the most greediest, cheeky pig ever.
I miss her soo much.
She was 6 when she died.

Rest in Peace Ginger. Little lady.
Here she is:

I`m not going to shout at you. The main thing is you have learnt a lot since then and have been willing to learn which is even more important :)
Really, your parents should have been responsible for your piggies as you were a child but what is done is done.
I would like to wish that beautiful Ginger RIP and I am sure she is looking down on you with love 0:) :smitten:
