The ulcer on her eye has halfed in size so the eye drops are working ;D but the vet annoyed me saying she didn't think I was giving my guinea a good life because her back legs don't work properly and I wasn't being fair. I am starting to doubt myself now because to me, she is happy. She eats and drinks as normal and even tries to have a little run around. I clean her daily and she isnt in any pain. Can I have some opinions please - am I being cruel?

as an owner, i know when my piggies are unhappy.. if you feel that your piggie is happy and your giving her the best care possible, then your doing the right thing in my opinion, what is it thats wrong with her legs?

Re: Ginger update

I think she had a stoke two months ago. I checked on her to find her back legs gone and her body all twisted. She tries to ove her legs but they don't see to want to. They had no feeling or warmth in them but over the last couple of months the feeling has returned to both legs and she is like a little hot water bottle she is so warm. I tried calcium for a week but no change. She has a vitamin c tablet everyday and a Potter Tabritis which has stopped the stiffness.

ah right, I'm not sure then only you can decide really.. if she seems to be improving and doesnt appear in pain then i wouldnt say your doing the right thing.

If she is eating and drinking then she has a quality of life. Only when they stop would I consider PTS as a last option. Ginger sounds like a little fighter. :)

Thanks. Its just when a vet tells you something which is opposite to what you are doing it makes you doubt your capabilites.

Always go with your gut feeling love :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
You know your piggie the best and if she's happy and munching away that's fine :smitten:
Bless her what a little trooper she is :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I forgot to tell you all - I spoke to Chrissie from Gorgeous Guineas and she is going to send me some cream in the post. I have seen the result from the trial she is running and the results look impressive! Thanks for recommending her. She has been really helpful O0
