Girl bully problems...

Even if you have two sows living side by side and they don't seem to get along, chattering, fluffing up at the barrier etc is that still better than them living alone with no other piggies in sight or to interact with? Even if the interaction seems pretty tense. We've only had our 2nd girl a week and it started off well, but our Doreen is back to her old fierce ways! Just wanting reassurance I've done the right thing bringing another piggy home. My intention was always to keep side by side so no plans to bond and both girls have plenty of room.

The behaviour will die down but you may consider bonding your second piggy with a companion of her own liking (preferably some young sow or submissive neutered boar) at some point as the bonding is clearly not working out. However, even hurling curses through the bars is social activity...
 
Haha yes that's true. She seems to have some social problems also, she was badly bullied by the herd she was in so I think is also appreciating her own space. Older sows can be an absolute nightmare!

I had four widows at some point, none of which would go with any of the others... :mal:

Hahaha everyone talks about boars but Doreen is literally the worst bully in the world. I thought long and hard about a neutered boar but I didn't want to put a poor little boy through an op and then Doreen be a total cow to him anyway 😂 I guess worst case scenario with these girls is I separate the C&Cs slighter further apart so there isn't as much barrier guarding!
