igglepiggle

This is the first weekend where the weather has been a bit finer, so today I decided to put Iggle and Piggle out in their run. I can see the run from where i am inside so I can monitor their progress, but they don't seem to be doing anything, they havn't come out of the covered bit and everytime I walk by they are curled up in the corner together. Few questions:

Is it too cold for them to be out when they are not used to it?
How long before I should put them back into their hutch?
Is there anything I can do to encourage them into the sunshine or should I just be patient?
Will they improve?

I really thought it would be good for them to get some fresh air and exercise and to be on the grass nibbling, but now I am afraid that all I have doen is terrify them! ::)

Any advice would be appreciated!

Put all my 21 piggies outside yesterday as it was a lovely day here,it was so nace to watch them literally racing around and popcorning .I took my cup of tea out and sat on my little seat in the enclosure and just enjoyed watching them , however after about an hour they all went inside so I left them for acouple of hours and then about 4 oclock I gathered them all together and brought them back inside the conservatory. It takes 4 or 5 journeys to transport them all but as soon as they are in the boxes they all sit still as though they know where they are going and as soon as I put the box down in the run out they jump and of they go,so nice to see them.

When they've never been in a run before they're often unsure how to react. They sometimes huddle in a pigloo etc until they're used to being out in it

I put them back in after a while when it started to get a bit chillier. When I took the covered bit off they had nibbled all the grass under the roof bit so I think they were enjoying it, in a very timid way, I think the more they go out the better they will be. :) Roll on long summer evenings! ::)

It would be the new area and the experience that they're concerned about :) Once they've been out there a few times they'll get to love it :D :D :D :D Just make sure that under their tootsies it's not wet, i always check by putting my hand on the grass and then fingers into it to make sure it's not damp O0

Mine are out today for the first time this year :D They sat there and looked stunned for about 15 minutes, then remembered how much they love it ;D Now they are out there making short work of the lawn, my OH will be thrilled ;D

Mine all went out for a short while today too. They loved it popcorns galore from them all :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I didnt get chance to let mine out today - was thinking shall i ? shant i ? ;D in the end i just gave them extra veggies and that and ill see how the weather is tomorrow for them O0 It just chucked it down not long ago so hopefully it wont rain tomorrow as i want to let my piggeroos out :smitten:
