Glinda, my semi long-haired piggy, has had a very messy bottom recently! It used to happen every now and then, but these days its all the time. It's filthy! I don't know what she's doing, but it is all over her back end and down her legs. She is just soaked brown!

It's awful. She has a really dodgy hair cut on her bottom to try and help it dry quicker as she is going to end up poorly from being filthy all the time. It isn't practical to be bathing her every day.

Could it be a sign that there is something wrong? Of all the pigs, she drinks the most, but I wouldn't say it excessive. It doesn't appear to be related to what she eats, as she can eat things like cucumber and melon and not have a messy bottom, but then on another day of just eating grass she does. I'm assuming she is lying in the run and weeing, then not moving away. But why is she doing this? :)>>>

It is wee, by the looks of it (its very wet) but I think it might be stained by...ahem...watered down poo (from weeing on poo!) She does seem to wee A LOT when she goes.

She was one in February, and I'm using a combination of woodshavings and hay on top at the moment, but as I said, it's usually when in the run as she's dry on days that she's had to stay in.
