As most of you know I went to visit Suzy, and I had the most amazing time! She has so many piggies, and yet everyone has more than adequate space, aswell as lots of food and warmth. They are all indoors for the winter, they even have their own radiators.

All the pigs are treated like family and although Milo didn't seem to impressed with his veg being late and the fireworks, I Think even he would have quite liked to stay!

I got too meet lots of gorgeous pigs, she showed me how to groom Milo properly . I had a scan though lots of Guinea Pig books she even showed me how to pick up pigs properly. Yes, even I can admit I'm not perfect. Apparently terrifying them isn't the way forward, with Fred being ever so quick she showed me how to catch him without having to chase him and now all my pigs are ever so glad, this huge hand is not coming down from above.

There were 3 pigs due to give birth, and they were checked non stop, too make sure if anything was to go wrong she would be there to help. As you know Sorrel had a baby still inside her after she had given birth and eaten some afterbirth. She was pottering about the cage eating and cleaning her babies. If it was me I would have thought that's it, everythings fine. Suzy was concerned as Sorrel was so big and took her out to check she immediately felt a lump, which wasn't right. Without a second thought I got ready to leave for the train station and she got Sorrel ready to go to the vets. If it hadn't have been for Suzy noticing the lump and taking her to the vet Sorrel most likely would have died. It's amazing the work rescues do.

We had a fabulous time and it's nice to see exactly how the rescue is run and I can honestly say I wouldn't think twice about supporting Suzy, she does such a wonderful job, and all they pigs are very lucky to be there.

She even let me leave with a pig, perhaps she was a bribe! :))

Rescues do a great and dedicated job; and I value their experience and advice most highly!

I am glad that you and Milo had such a great time at Suzy's (and rather jealous, too!). And I am so relieved that Sorrel has made it through the op.

Me and my mum went to Suzys last month; she also taught us how to pick piggies up without scaring them and lots of other helpful little tips too! She does an amazing job, even though we had to travel (not as far as you though Flintstones :)) ) we hope to always get our piggies from Suzy in the future.

Your new little girl is gorgeous, she looks very happy with Milo. We came home with Rodney & Delboy :)

Hi Joanne, I just saw your other thread. I am delighted you had a great time at Suzys and that Milo found himself a partner. Great news. The pics were great too xx

Suzy's rescue sounds wonderful I would love to visit one day as I really need to know a good way to pick piggies up too. Ours run laps round us.
