I'm going away friday evening till sunday. so will make sure my 2 piggies get plenty of time in the run tommorow and then top up there food before I leave fridy night. I have been told I can just leave extra food in the cage for saturday and then feed them when I get back sunday. Has anyone done this ? Or would it be best to get someone to come and put some food in the hutch on the saturday.

I prefer to never leave my piggies without fresh food for more than a day at a stretch, preferably twice daily (I am very grateful to my long suffering neighbours!)

In order to make things as fail safe as possible, I chop up the piggie veg and leave it in a labelled box in the fridge. On there are also instructions on how much pellets, hay and water to give.

Definitely ask someone to pop in - great idea what Wiebke does too prepping in advance.
I'd worry too much if I left my lot, we're going to our caravan Saturday but I won't stay overnight unless they come with us :)

I have left mine in the past overnight , but once I left them 2 nights, but it was nerve wracking! If possible get someone to pop in, if not, do not leave them food likely to spoil quickly, so I would feed them before you go, then leave a couple of pieces of carrot say, but not much, don't leave cabbage or lettuce in with them . The carrot will be hard so they will take a while to munch on it. However, they will need plenty of pellets, & also as much hay as you can possibly leave in with them. They need to constantly eat so you do need to make sure they have plenty of hay & pellets. However I would never ever leave them unattended longer than 2 nights, if they are indoor pigs can you not leave them with a knowledgeable friend?

As I'm the same, I can't leave mine alone for more than one night, the resounding answer to the original question is no.

You'll only fret, I know I do :...

It doesn't matter where I go for any more than a few hours, I can't wait to get home to them. These little devils have taken over my home and my life now x) :(|)
