On Friday I'm off to Florida for 2 weeks, and my Uncle is coming to live in the house and therefore is looking after all of the animals. Now, he doesn't really know much about guinea pigs or rabbits so I'm a bit dubious about leaving him with them but my Nan will be around and she knows a fair bit, and her best friend is a Veterinary Nurse, so help is there if needed.
Does anybody have any tips about what to make sure I leave for my uncle, how to ensure I'm all prepared for leaving them?
I'm writing him a detailed instruction sheet and he's coming over on Wednesday to see how it all works, I've left the vet and emergency vet number as well as the pet carrier in case anything happens, and I'm making his daughter a checklist so she can help with basic things such as hay and water etc. I'm also leaving him a veggie shopping list with money to stock up on veggies.
Does anybody have anything else I should think of?

I'd do the instruction sheet - but also be obvious about things to look out for - not eating, runny noses, sneezes, funny poos etc. as it's obvious to us, but not a complete novice!

I'd also maybe do a menu to avoid too much of the "bad" foods being fed.

Ok, you might look slightly neurotic, but at least the piggies will be ok! :))

Make sure he's clear about quantities of food as well. A friend had to unexpectedly look after my pigs for 2 days. I told him how much to give them (and he has his own pigs rolleyes ) but he managed to give them nearly 5 days worth of veg in 2 days! Flumpet's belly was nearly dragging on the floor when I came home. :(|)

Try to get hold a basic book about piggies that way he will be able to read up on them if he feels out of his depth. Also tell him a bit about their personalities so that if they do seem a bit off colour he will be able to pick up on it easier. Stick all instructions to a cabinet near the food cupboard. Also leave the number of someone you trust to look after them if he has an emergency to deal with that way he won't feel bad if something happens. HTH Enjoy your holiday 8;)

my guinea-pigs were fine when i came back from my holiday after I had left them with my godmother and godfather for two weeks. I left them all my piggy books, and instructions with the vets telephone no on it. 8;) Hope this is useful!
