So mine must be 2 - 3 weeks old. Shouldnt they still be with there mum? She said she just seperated them as they started to fight with the girls.

Libby and Lizzie are both still feeding from mom although they don't need to.

The boys should stay with mom until they are 3 weeks old.

If they are 8-9 weeks and they have only just been separated from the girls, then the girls are likely to be pregnant. I had a girl arrive here that was pregnant at 6 weeks. :(

I have just been looking at some youtube videos of 3 week old piggies and they look the same sizeish. Do you think they will be ok without there mum? The boys were running around by them selfs and the boys in another run. I dont know when they got seperated though. I will take some pics of them tomorrow of them in my hand and weigh them. Will also double check the sex and may ask for someones opinion to double check i have it right. The Baby girls were the same size as Alfie.

Ok just been doing some maths. She said the mix up happend when we had the snow before xmas, so if they are pregnant for 60 -75 days it would make them 3 weeks. Well i think Jasper is 3 weeks and perhaps Alfie is between 2 - 3 weeks.

They should be fine, although they shouldn't have been rehomed.

You will need to watch to make sure they are eating ok and that they are able to use a water bottle. You will also need to introduce new foods slowly, especially veggies if you don't know what they are used to or the quantity they are used too.

I would definately have someone else check the sex of them, I always ask someone else to check, its better to be safe than sorry.

Unfortunately Breeze and Autumn weren't separated from their brothers early enough so they both arrived pregnant at 6 weeks.

what a shame :( Poor little things.

Ok i will remove the little bit of veg i put in tomorrow and just give them a tiny bit. They have stayed in one spot all afternoon. The lady did say she had given them veg but i will take it slow just to be on the safe side.

I will post pics tomorrow for people to confirm what sex they are. I know Alfie is a boy as i could tell straight away. I only looked quick on Jasper but he was moving about alot so didnt want to stress him out.

I will also weigh them and keep an eye on there weight. Should i weigh weekly or daily?

They are probably terrified and missing mom, mine usually squeal really badly for their mom the first few days they are apart. I'm sure they will settle in no time.

I'm just glad they are with you, at least they are with someone that will do their best for them. :)

Ahhh thank you :) I feel sorry for the other 2 that are there waiting to find new homes :( Hopefully she will have them for a few more weeks before they find a home. If she placed the add 18 days ago and she still had 4 to re home.... She had 2 females there as well which she was holding for a friend. They were still with mum. They havent really made much noise since being home. Alfie went for a wee all over me ") I couldnt believe how much wee came out of him lol They liked me stroking them but just didnt want to move. Hopefully they will be ok.

Do you think i just move them next to my other boars or sows (In seperate cages) so they dont feel so alone? I could move them so they are facing into one of the other hutches.

they do look small, but we have 2 sows that are just coming up for 7 weeks, and although sisters from the same litter, 1 is much smaller than the other, and they were both about that size at 4 weeks. their mum was very small and very young, she was a rescue pig my best friend took in from a lady who wanted rid of her and her sister after they were running with a boar at a very young age. all piggies are different, and that 4 week old baby on your hand looks large for 4 weeks to me. my 2 are about that size now, at nearly 7 weeks, unless you have very small hands. maybe its just proving difficult for me to be able to tell in the photos (not wearing my glasses right now rolleyes ) but i wouldnt be overly worried about them being kinda dinky :) as long as youre aware they may be a bit younger than you thought.

good luck with your new boys, I'm sure they will settle in beautifully. they are beautiful looking guineas and I'm sure they will thrive in your care :)

I love how little they are. Oh they just make you melt because they are sooooooo little. And have fun with these two and enjoy them

could do with knowing their weights so we can advise if you could do with giving them a little extra supplements in there diet via goats milk and high fat foods?

it would be a good idea to put them next to your guineas but bareing in mind they havent been isolated for 2 wks.

you could also pop a medium sized teddy in with them so they have some thing to cuddle up to!

let us know their weights?

Well i weighed them today and Jasper is 400g and Alfi 280g. I have checked and they are boys :) They seem a bit better today and got given a hutch so they have been upgraded already :) They had eaten all the veg i gave them last night and all there other food.

When my sow had her babies, LB weighed about 218g at 2wks old - so based upon that i would estimate your little Alfi to be around 3wks old and your Jasper to be around 5-6wks old.

I'm sure i read somewhere that 6wks or 400g (whichever is sooner) is ideal when it comes to re-homing :)

Thank you, me and hubby done some reaseach last night and looked at some videos of baby piggies and thought they must of been about the same. :) They are so cute though.

out of interest, i just weighed my 2 sows who are just over 6 weeks old, and they weigh 350g and 400g. the 350g was the runt of the litter of 5 and shes still a fair bit smaller in size aswell as weight. maybe its because they are from a bigger litter than the others mentioned here.
