So, I went to Sparsholt College a Couple of Weeks ago. I didn't get in but that's not the case. I want to write a letter of complaint as I saw a breeding pair - Of course they would be breeding but that's not just it - of guinea pigs with some babies, Everyone was going 'Aww' 'Cute' 'Look at them babies' I wasn't impressed at all. I mean if it's a good college that has knowledge of animals why the hell does it have a guinea pig with a rabbit. Now this really boiled my blood. I mean breeding pair, I could hold myself but a Rabbit and a Guinea Pigs, No that's unacceptable. The rabbit was a lionhead. People think I'm just crazy writing a letter on this small insignficent topic but If a college about animals care they would least know that rabbits should not be kept with guinea pigs. I just need to do my homework then I'm going to write it out. All I really know is that the rabbit may bully the guinea pigs and I think I heard on another thread that it's illegal or something like that. Please can anyone give me anymore infomation.

Thank you!

I think the RSPCA advise against it. I hope someone can find you the link to where they say this. Good idea to write a letter to them O0

If you google Animal welfare act the defra site will come up look on there :)

rabbits are also carriers of diseases that are harmless to rabbits but can be fatal to piggies. perhaps PM daftscotlass as she knew a lot about this the last time it was raised. and perhaps the lady who took on her daughter's school for the same reason and perhaps write the letter together. please keep us posted and good for you O0 sending hugs and support vibes :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

well thank you Anderson none of us where aware of that ?

yes it is, well done!

:-\ but being sarcastic doesn't really help the person who started the thread does it....

Good luck Piggies and I hope you manage to get them to change. It's unlikely that they will but don't let it discourage you because it's worth a try.

That's a bit sarcastic too. What's your problem? If you don't have anything consructive to say then perhaps I could suggest you say nothing at all.

<~~~comes in whistling...Rabbits are also not rodents so shouldn't be housed with them...

<~~~closes the door behind her! ;D

seriously, what is the matter?

It is not like Anderson is the only person that has ever posted something which is off topic or obvious or unrelated or god knows, but there is just no need to reply in such a sarcastic manner! If you haven't had a good day today piggybaker, might I suggest you do something to unwind and cool off before coming back on to the forum? Being snappy and sarcastic like that is just uncalled for, a simple "I am not sure how this is related to the thread?" would be sufficient, don't you think?

There is load of people on this forum who post things that are off topic or just plain and simply RANDOM but I dont go round posting comments like that (well mind you if I did, I would be on here 24/7 as there is that many people who do it!)

It wasn't random the rabbit is in with the pigs so what Anderson said was right. Oh I'm so confused

Isabella just look up the RSPCA and Defra and you should have enough info there. I don't think the college will change their breeding ideas but they shouldn't be in with buns. Good luck anyway!

I love writing letters of complaint! ;D
Yep definately check the RPSCA website and read thru what they have to say ;)
I think people are trying to make it illegal, but it isn't yet? ?

Rabbits and gps should never be kept together because as has already been pointed out, rabbits can be bad tempered and unpredictable.I have actually seen a gp with fractured ribs from a kick from a rabbit. Also rabbits have different dietary needs.

actally what i said was well within reason, there have been 3/4 threads on rabbits and guineas latelyand whether they should be kept together, and as for your opinion on my behaviour I don't care, and quiet frankly if you want to tear me off a strip in public might i make a suggestion and you wind your neck in!

ps i corrected your spelling mistakes for you :)
but yes back to topic

Sorry but there was no point in being sarcastic, yes what Anderson pointed out had already been pointed out in other threads, but she was just trying to add some information to this topic. She was trying to be helpful. You weren't very helpful by being sarcastic about what she said :-\

piggiex why don't you have a look on a reccent thread about Rabbits and Gp's being housed together there was an interesting one a few days ago. xx

Sorry ladies but this has had me chuckling, I don't think piggybaker was nasty or rude just stating the obvious ;D

Piggybaker is VERY rude actually, there is no need for being sarcastic whatsoever, especially the reply to wind1 along the lines of "well done for spotting this, of course I am being sarcastic" as if piggybaker is actually proud of being like this!

about spelling mistakes - I do think my English is better than your German, honey ;)

Sorry to go off topic again but piggbaker you should check your own spellings before you slag off other people (were), (actually), (quite) and telling someone else to wind thier neck in when you obviously need to do the same is quite something else. You really have got an attitude problem. Also even if a thread has come up a number of times I don't see the problem in answering a question without all the sarcasm and nastiness. There was a thread on here the other day about this forum being one big happy family. I suppose in every family there is someone who is rude and obnoxious and it seems we have found that family member here. As I said I am sorry to go on about this but I really feel somebody should not be allowed to get away with being like this to another forum member.
