It is always interesting to see how rescues look behind the scenes, especially large ones like this one in Australia that is currently looking after 150 piggies in their care, many of who are looking for new homes again. Hat off to the founder and her dedicated team of volunteers to run it and keep it going!
Here is a behind the scenes video from Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue, which has kindly given permission to have their video posted on here. It starts with lots of newborn babies at the rescue (including the ones from the live birthing video in the Pregnancy section).
It's so sad that there are so many looking for homes all aver the world but it's great to see people caring for them and devoting their lives to help them very cute videos

Sadly as the flood of unwanted and dumped piggies is steadily growing all across the world, there are more waiting to come into rescue for every piggy that is adopted out! That is why it is so important to adopt from a good rescue - it gives the rescue the chance to give more neglected and unwanted piggies the experienced handling and medical care that they need. You do not only save the piggies that you adopt, you also save the next in line and give it a chance for a safe and happy life...
If I won the lottery I would open up a sanctuary and take in all the unwanted piggies and keep them all forever i get really upset when I think that the mum of these piggies kept them warm, safe, fed them, washed them, protected them and then some human comes along and takes the babies away and mistreats them and finally dumps them after all the hard work mummy pig has gone to to raise her babies. When I look at my piggies I always say to my piggies " I hope your mummies would be happy with me for taking care and loving you the way you all deserve"
They are amazing both rescues!
As are many others who devote their lives to guinea pigs.
They go without so the piggies have fresh food!
All hero's in my eyes
What an amazing pair of ladies on different continents working tirelessly to look after unwanted guinea pigs. I admire all rescues for the hard work and dedication they out in. There are no days off and the hours are hugely demanding. Heroes.
