bit of a random one guys so I'm not sure if anyone will be abe to help me..but bout year ago my 4 year old sow had really bad diahorrea and lost a lot of weight..after going to different vets who gave us many different diagnoses and treatments, it still happened i finally found a specialist and got her xrayed, app she had a rare build up of calcium on her jaw and it was giving her pain to eat so she wasn't..hence the weight loss etc..the vet prescribed me meds that were ridiculously expensive until a rescue told me she could have infants cowpol, shes been on that for about 9 months and never had a ****, she would grab the syringe out of my hand like a little junkie and alls been well, but for the last 2 days she's not grabbing it like normal and turns her head away, i have to physically pick her up and feed her.. her stools are normal and its to early to tell if shes lost weight.. but do * think shes become immune to the 0.4 and shes back in pain? should i up the dose? I'm keeping a eye on her and straight to the vets if needs be..worried! a quick note but i dont know if it means anything the cowpol ran out so i bought boots own "cowpol" she was fine with it for the first few feeds..my boyfriend says maybe its the taste?
thanks for reading my essay and if you can help!

Probably the taste. Dont up the dose. I'm not 100% sure on the paracetamol dose in piggies so i wouldnt try upping any dose without consulting a vet first. Long term pain relief can cause lots of issues with kidneys and the liver so have a word with your vet about long term use and its side effects. I wouldnt want my piggie on it long term unless absolutely necessary.

x

PS. The thickening of the jaw is probably (tho dont quote me because i dont know what your vet exactly found) due to a parathyroid issue and an inbalance of the calcium: phos in the blood. See if you can get some meds or resolve this problem some other way? Or have you tried that?
