Had a shuffle around yesterday with all my piggies and bunnies and I'm in shock !

Following a head count, cant believe that I've now got 41 piggies and 15 bunnies :x

Trouble is, I did set myself a limit for my own animals but these rescues pull at the heart strings and I just end up keeping them.

Really should make a list of who could be rehomed but knowing me there wouldn't be anyone on it :))

Know how you feel Teresa 54 guineas here and a bunny that is ours.

Have a couple of adult pairs who are ready for their new homes. Having been in rescue a couple of years I have several 'sticky' pigs who need specialist homes due to medical problems, coat maintainance, and needing adult only handling. Mostof the calls I get are for babies and singles if I mention the adult piggies looking you can just hear the disinterest :0

Plus the fact I only re-home within two hours driving distance so I can home check myself and visit the adopters and discuss the guineas needs and their needs from their guinea. I try very hard to match up owner and guinea correctly to be sure it will be a happy forever home for everyone.

Beefy the boar who came from Peterborough has the worst impaction I have seen he needs cleaning out twice a day so even though he is neutered no everyone would want to get that up close personal and smelly with him! I hope that once he is more active with the ladies and a change of diet will help. I am asking for a donation that will help towards the £46 I personally paid for his neuter so that the next recue piggy can be helped and in the current climate potential adopters are expecting lower than pets shop prices but without any outside funding and no time to fundraise I am in a catch 22 then when they find they have to clean out his bum you can imagine their response so I guess he will be staying lol.

Pinball fitted and got brain damaged on the journey here so can't go far for his new home he has a balance problem so cannot be picked up and he and his companion both dive for the floor when being handled.

Several long hairs who need good coat maintainance and not many people want to take them on.

The two rex sows recently rescued in poor condition are so food aggressive they are currently living alone as they just end up fighting (one now has a pierced ear not just a nibbled edge but a chomp through the middle proper top and bottom bite poor thing) when they are together and food is around so lord knows how they are going to get on with other piggies in the future.

You falll in love with the more difficult cases and want to have the right home for them problem is the right home can be a long wait and you can't help getting attached.

Like Bernie who you have he was here for 4 months and I miss his face in the shed I know he has a fab home and is very happy, I just wish I could find a few more of the others the 'right' home I miss them butI know they are happy and people keep me updated.

Sadly I am at the point when I can only take a couple of piggies at a time now as room to juggle is running out!

I have 13 piggies and to be honest that is enough for us - its just the right amount to look after as I full work time, but it's great that you have loads of animals :-)

Lol - aw, I only have 2 girls! I can't imagine how noisy all your lot are - 2 girls are bad enough, especially when that fridge door opens or the bag rustles.

Hmmm - I know exactly what you mean Vikki !

Had a bunny come in on Tuesday as he needed an operation. The owners were quoted £150 for the op and couldn't afford it. I had his op done on Wednesday morning and fingers crossed he's doing fine at the moment but if I rehome him someone will expect to give me £10 at the most - good job I have a very understanding husband :)

And yes the noise is unbelievable - I also have very understanding neighbours!

I've gone from 1 to 10 in six years. Pretty good going actually! If I had my way...
Although if you count overall who has come through my home, I've had seventeen pigs; I've lost three, two were fosters, and two were rehomed in the very early days due to the pigs fighting.
