Duke (our correspondent in Oz) is having his toofies done.

Good luck darling :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Hi guys, yes he's pulled thru beautifully this time :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

as you might remember he flopped last time and was generally ill for quite a few hours and then it took days before he'd eat properly or do poops or anything :'(

This time however he came out and gave me the 'i want food look' :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: and ate some canteloupe, parsley and lettuce whilst sitting on my knee. and then i gave him some water too and he slurped it up :smitten: :smitten:

I have to go out today but will be only out for an hour or so at a time so i can check up on him :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Thankyou Lucinda :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Big :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* for his lordship, Tamsin says thank you for the birthday wishes :smitten: :smitten:

Well done Duke! :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: Big hugs to Glynis for "just being there"!!

He's been munching on most of his veggies and thank goodness none of the wheezing this time either :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

The head nurse did say that she feels that the other vet is just not experienced enough... and as Duke is a senior piggie (5 years and 9 months young) now he needs to be done quickly no fussing about... which is what Brendan did O0

His bloods results are: dam it the phone's still engaged, i'll let you all know when i find out... i'm sure all will be ok tho :)

So glad to hear he is doing well, these piggies do cause us a lot of stress

Results are in....... he has a high white blood cell count..... i have to go in on next Thursday :-\ :-\

Any ideas what this could mean? anyone? now i'm real nervous :'(

He will be ok though wont he?

He just needs some antibiotics or something

Apparently it's quite normal for them to have a high white cell count after a procedure - even if there is no infection the body makes up some extra cells to combat any possible infection that may arise - or at least so I've been told! Sure it's nothing to worry about, keeping fingers and paws crossed for Thursday :-*
