A couple of weeks ago I posted about Bonnie being diagnosed with bumblefoot, my vet said it's because she's six and arthritic so she favours the one foot. She's been on Baytril for two weeks and Metacam for one week. After noticing that her poops had gone very small I began syringe feeding her a few times a day. She's now eating and drinking independently and looks very bright! She still walk on three feet and holds the one up but the swelling has gone down and it no longer feels hot.
We have an appt to see the vet again next Tues. I always thought that bumblefoot has scabs on it but Bonnie's foot doesn't so could it still be bumblefoot?

Hi Amy,

Well that's great news. I've had bumble foot and it wasn't necessarily about having the scabs, the foot was hot and red, and looked a little inflamed to be honest.

It's Amy's mom
That's what Bonnie's foot was like, just very swollen and hot to the touch. It's gone right done but she still isn't using it.

Sorry.

I suspect it was sore for a while and she's just got used to either not using it or not wanting it to cause any discomfort. Perhaps just give it time.

No need to apologize ☺️

Good news is that she's started to use it again!
