Good piggie vets near Watford

Hi guys - can anyone recommend a good/specialist vet near Watford, Hertfordshire? I am a vet nurse myself but we hardly ever nursed piggies at our large, mixed practice in Watford and have come to realise that none of the vets I used to work with there/or new ones who have joined more recently seem to know very much about guinea pigs!

Had to take my boar Tom in yesterday as I was worried about his slightly protruding penis and whilst the degree student nurse was very helpful the vet seemed to think it was just his anatomical difference from his brother (it isn't and was bit swollen/inflamed - but I've bathed him and it's not as sore as it was and he's fine in himself).

I don't want to wait until I have an emergency before I find a good vet and there's only so much one person can do on their own at home with a squeamish 8 year old daughter and husband who doesn't like holding my 2 cute boys very much!

Thanks x (am thinking that maybe a rescue centre might have more knowledge about piggies as they probably see more of them?)

I would be interested to know this too as I am near Watford and don't know of any particularly good piggy vets.

I also would like to know this too. I go to the Blythwood vets in Bushey and apparently there is a vet who is well trained in guinea pigs but she seemed to jump when they got all jumpy so wasn't a hundred per cent convinced. The first vet i saw wasn't particularly trained in guinea pigs but he seemed a lot more confident with them and tried to treat them from every angle.

But i would love to see a specialist vet for them though.
